“When the Lamb broke the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.” Revelation 8:1
At the end of the 6 Seals of God’s Wrath, there was Silence! God’s Heaven, with myriads of Angels and Saints, all singing and worshiping, are suddenly SILENT! Can you imagine this? We are told “the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands,” and they were “saying with a loud voice”, and then NOTHING!!!
Why is this? We aren’t told! And I think we do well to join them. Commentators have their Theories, and Many speculate, but sometimes just putting our hand over our mouths is a better posture. Solomon opined in Ecclesiastes, that there is “A time to be silent”. God’s Wisdom, Knowledge, and Power, is Infinite, and by them He controls All Creation. Let us come before Him, like these in Heaven, prostrate ourselves, And Be Silent!!!
