“It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.” Revelation 19:8
This morning the latter half of this Verse stood out (I’m including the whole verse to provide context). Here, the Bride of the Lamb, the Church, is being described. She is clothed in her wedding dress, “clean and bright”, which is defined as “the righteous acts of the saints”. Not Christ’s Righteousness, but the Saints. Now we know that our standing before God is “All of Christ” and “Any Good” that we do, we do entirely because of Him. But those Righteous Acts that “We Do”,……ARE what set us apart from others. How we live “Does Matter”, and in the End, it is ALL that Matters!!!
Now again, I repeat, our standing before God IS “All of Christ”. We are Forgiven and Cleansed from our Sins, and Accepted before God ONLY because of Christ. That Does Not Change! But, the Fact that God has Forgiven, Cleansed, and Accepted us means that “We Will Have” Good Works!!! We CANNOT believe we have truly been converted without them. They Are Essential!!! May God help us to focus on how we live today and seek His Glory!
