Read Revelation 14-16

“Behold, I am coming like a thief.” Revelation 16:15a

At the beginning of Chapter 16, John tells us “I heard a loud voice from the temple, saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God”. He then goes on to describe each of the Bowls of God’s Wrath, one at a time. Then, right after the description of the sixth Bowl, he inserts these words from Jesus; “Behold, I am coming like a thief.” They seem totally out of place, don’t they? Except Jesus Himself makes them. Perhaps he heard them during this part of the Revelation, or, he remembered them from Christ’s time on earth, but he chose to insert them here. I find this “Profound” to say the least.

But then again, consider what Habakkuk wrote: “Lord…in wrath remember mercy.” And so,…in the Mercy of God, even in the midst of describing the Judgement “that most certainly will come”, He provides a final Warning of His Coming. Without being dogmatic, I would say this is an answer to Habakkuk’s prayer, “Lord…in wrath remember mercy.”! Jesus “IS” Coming!!! Are you Ready?
