“Sing to the Lord a new song” Psalm 96:1a; “The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice” Psalm 97:1a; “O sing to the Lord a new song” Psalm 98:1a; “The Lord reigns, let the peoples tremble” Psalm 99:1a
The Verses above are from 4 of the Psalms from my reading today. I was struck by the contrast of “Sing to the Lord” and “The Lord Reigns” in each of the opening lines. We are commanded to “Sing”, because “the Lord Reigns”, and because “the Lord Reigns”, we want to “Sing”. When you think about it, the entire book of Psalms reflects this same principle. It is a Book of Songs given to us to sing, with constant and continual exaltation of God’s Power and Sovereign control.
Aren’t God’s Ways truly Amazing?
