“From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Psalm 61:2
David, a man after God’s own heart, was one that every true Christian can identify with. Though anointed by God, filled with the Spirit, champion over Goliath, slayer of tens of thousands, soon to be King, could say “when my heart is faint”! A Man, who in many ways could have been extremely self-sufficient, found himself empty and lacking.
So where does he turn? Self Help, Money, Power, Success? No! He turns to God; “I call to You”! His sole Trust, Help, and Need, was IN GOD!!! And isn’t the Imagery in the end wonderful? A “Rock”, that is “Higher” than I. Jesus IS that ROCK and He is always Higher than Us!!! Let us find Him, and take our Stand on Him, in this Present Evil World!
