“He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.” Proverbs 18:22
In the midst of Paradise, God declared to a perfect Man, a man who knew no sin and had no needs, “it is not good for you to be alone”! In Today’s Verse, Solomon affirms that reality. All married men were once single. They all knew the loneliness that accompanied their singleness and inwardly yearned for that part that was missing. Christian or not, when a Man finds a wife, “he finds a good thing”!
Men, if you are married today, God is the giver of that “favor”! He alone enabled you to “find” her! Do you thank Him for this Gift, or do you take her for granted? How should we respond to such Lovingkindness? We are to love her “as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself for her.” May God give us more thankful and loving Hearts!
