“When pride comes, then comes dishonor, but with the humble is wisdom.” Proverbs 11:2
So much could be said about Pride. We all know it when we see it, but how seldom we see it in ourselves. There is a viral infection of it in our Culture today. Everywhere we look and listen, there is a cavalier “I know” spirit at work. But rather than leading to respect, which is ultimately what we want, it gives way to dishonor. And instead of putting on Humility, which will give us Wisdom, and the Honor of which we are seeking after, we become even more entrenched in our Pride.
“Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?” The Answer? “Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!”
