“But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity.” Micah 5:2
When the Magi came to King Herod inquiring “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews?”, this is the Verse that “the chief priests and scribes” quoted him. 30 years later, the same spiritual leaders would jeer to Nicodemus, “Search, and see that no prophet arises out of Galilee”. Obviously, they didn’t search deep enough to know that Jesus had not come from Nazareth.
Like the Jews of old, many in our day do not “search deep enough” to know that Jesus is not “just” a Man. Recent polls have revealed a growing trend among Evangelicals to question Jesus’ divinity. Sure, they believe He existed, but whether or not He is God is a different story. Let me put it straight, if you do not believe that Jesus is God, that He is Eternal and Not Created, that He is the LORD Jehovah and Member of the Trinity, then You Are Not A Christian!!!
Jesus told Nicodemus “You must be born again”. When he challenged that Pharisee, he was well on his way of becoming so. May it be true of all of us!
