“All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.” John 1:3
As we begin with John’s Gospel today, just a quick note. “It” is unlike any of the other Gospels. It does contain some of the same stories and teachings as Matthew, Mark, and Luke; but it contains MUCH that is not in them. It is also written by one of the earliest of the Apostles, the youngest, and the one we’re told “whom Jesus loved”. It has a very intimate and personal appeal because of that. When I was first converted, I was handed a New Testament and told to start reading…the Book of John. This is why.
So many things can be written about the 1st 3 Chapters of John. For some reason this verse caught my attention today. Consider the opening words “All Things”. Every created thing on this earth, every human, every animal, every insect, and every plant, came into being through Him! Everything that these things are comprised of, every cell, every molecule, every atom, and every particle that makes up those atoms, came into being, Through Him! Stretch that out to the very farthest regions of the Universe…and beyond. Jesus Made It ALL!!! This should cause us all to prostrate ourselves and say Holy, Holy, Holy, to the Lamb that was slain!
