“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
Opening Thought: How Mighty is your view of God?
These are the 1st recorded Words of the Lord to Jeremiah. “I formed you, I knew you, I sanctified you, I ordained you.” How can you question that? But hearing this was not enough to convince him. His response was “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.” So what does God do? He Gives Grace! We’re told, “Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth.” Most of us know how the rest of the story goes.
Final Thought: Knowing God as the Omnipotent, Omniscient, Creator and the Almighty Sovereign God of Election and Predestination, is not enough. We still need Grace in order to put it all into Practice. May God grant us this Grace!!!
