Read Isaiah 63-66

“But now, O Lord, You are our Father, we are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand.” Isaiah 64:8

I love the language of Isaiah; it’s filled with graphic imagery! Here he uses “Father” and “Potter” to describe God’s relationship to us,…His People. In the midst of Chapters depicting Judgement, sometimes terrifying in its severity, we are also comforted with these. How can that be?

Paul tells us, “not all Israel are Israel”. Some were; many were not. Though called Jew, if their hearts had not been changed, they were not truly Abraham’s children. But those that were, had comfort with this Verse.

God; Father and Potter of their lives, training them, molding and shaping them, just as He desired. Protecting and Providing, Designing and Finishing, all the Way to Heaven. Does this describe your God? It should!
