“Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near.” Isaiah 55:6
As I’ve mentioned before, Chapter 55 is another of my favorites. It’s full of Unbelievable Statements and Promises. Here is one of them and some of my thoughts. This is The Old Testament Gospel. Like Joel, the Invitation to “Call upon the Name of the Lord” is given freely and open to All! There will come a Day when He “may not be found” or “near”. Today is the Day of Salvation, not tomorrow or another time.
Last, and most importantly, Seeking and Calling is Radical in nature. “Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts” is what that entails. Repentance is ALWAYS part of coming to God, both in Deed and Thought. If you name the Name of Christ, as Paul said, you need to “abstain from wickedness”!
