“Then the eyes of the blind will be opened and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.” Isaiah 35:5
Here, in Chapter 35, we have a Desert coming to life; “The wilderness and the desert will be glad”, and “The scorched land will become a pool and the thirsty ground springs of water”. Then, right in the middle, we have today’s Verse. It almost seems out of place. But this entire Chapter is a Picture of the Gospel coming to Israel. One day, people’s eyes and ears would be healed and suddenly this Chapter would shout out “Remember Me?”.
But is that all it says? What did Jesus say over and over? “He that has eyes to see, let him see, and he that has ears to hear, let him hear”. It was more than physical healing, it was spiritual! Like a desert coming to life and eyes and ears being opened, the Dead are made alive, blind eyes see, and deaf ears hear!!!
