“Is anything too difficult for the Lord?” Genesis 18:14a
This is the question God asked Abraham when Sarah laughed at the news that “she would have a child”. We’re told that “Sarah laughed to herself, saying, “After I have become old, am I to have pleasure, my lord being old also?””
But it is also a question for each of us! The Creator of “All Things”, from the largest Sun to the sub-particle of an electron, asks each of us today; “Is anything too difficult for the Lord”? Do we believe in this God; when we Pray; when we Worship; when we Read our Bibles? Our actions betray us! We know our own Unbelief, don’t we?
This kind of “knowledge” of God is more than intellectual; it is Deep Inner Conviction! Why did God pose this question to Abraham? He knew that he was incapable of believing it. He asked it to reveal his lack of Faith, so that He would throw himself at God’s Feet and pray “Lord, I believe, help my unbelief”. So Must We do the same!!!
