Read Ezekiel 8-12

“Therefore, I indeed will deal in wrath. My eye will have no pity nor will I spare; and though they cry in My ears with a loud voice, yet I will not listen to them.” Ezekiel 8:18

For the next 4 Chapters, Ezekiel recounts his 2nd vision. Here in Chapter 8 he deals with the blatant Idolatry taking place in the Temple. Today’s verse has very sobering words of Judgement that we must not remove from our concept of who God is. He IS a God of Wrath, even towards a People that claim to “know” Him. Yes, God is angry with the Ungodly and Unbelieving, those of the World that are described by Paul as Children of Wrath. But He is especially angry with those that profess to know Him, yet live lives contrary.

It is crucial for today’s Christian to understand this. True Salvation is more than a profession of faith. It is a changed heart. It is Radical in nature. We see this in coming chapters where God reveals the New Covenant with words of “I will take the heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh”. THAT…, is Salvation!
