“Thus I will establish My covenant with you, and you shall know that I am the Lord,” Ezekiel 16:62
Both Jeremiah and Ezekiel give us much insight into the New Covenant. Here, at the end of Chapter 16, he summarizes the life of sinful and wicked Jerusalem by stating they had broken the covenant, but…, that he would establish “an everlasting covenant” with them, one that brings a spirit of repentance and change. This is that New Covenant!!!
As the writer of Hebrews call it, a Better Covenant. This is what Ezekiel refers to earlier, the removal of the Heart of Stone being replaced by a Heart of Flesh. This, and only this, is how we truly “Know God”!
