“And when I saw it, I fell on my face and heard a voice speaking.” Ezekiel 1:28b
Today’s Verse was Ezekiel’s reaction to the Vision he records earlier. If you’re familiar with it, you know it’s unlike anything else in the Bible. But the description is not as important as the reaction. He “falls on his face”. He is Prostrate before God. You have similar stories with Isaiah, Daniel, and others, who “see God” and do the same thing.
What does this teach us? That Real Religion, or True Saving Faith, has a dramatic impact upon those that encounter God. Let’s face it, there is “no value” to a Religion or Faith that does not involve a Real God! It all begins with encountering the Creator and Lord of all things. This Humbles us! It Devastates us! It causes us to cry out “God have mercy on me the Sinner!” Then, and only then, is Belief in Jesus relevant. Jesus came to save us from SIN, something that God hates and elicits His Wrath. Repentance MUST accompany Faith or we have not encountered God!!!
