Read Exodus 12-14

“Moreover, they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses in which they eat it.” Exodus 12:7

Moses and Aaron have confronted Pharaoh 9 times, each time refusing to listen, and each time God sending a Plague upon them. For the 10^th and final Plague, God sends His Angel of Death to kill the firstborn of every Family compelling Pharaoh to say “Rise up, get out from among my people, both you and the sons of Israel; and go, worship the Lord, as you have said.” But in Goshen, where the Children of Israel lived, this same Angel did not bring Death. He did not visit them in Judgement. Their homes were protected. And how were they protected? They took the blood of a Lamb and applied it to the doorposts and lintel. When the Angel saw the blood, He was instructed to Pass Over that house, sparing their firstborn.

And thus, we have The Passover! What Imagery. It’s surreal; like a Movie. Israel, living in Egypt, in Bondage, is given a Message of Salvation! You can leave the World behind you. You can begin your Journey to Heaven. You can leave your Bondage to Sin and Death. You can escape the Judgement that is coming on the Ungodly and all those that Love the World. Take the Provision; the Lamb of God. Take His Blood and apply it to your Heart, your Mind, and your Conscience. Let it Wash away your Sins and Save you from the Angel of God’s Wrath. This is the Gospel! This is the Way of Salvation! What an Amazing Story and Parallel. It doesn’t get any Clearer than this!!!
