“He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves abundance with its income. This too is vanity.” Ecclesiastes 5:10
Though not as direct and simple as Proverbs is, Ecclesiastes is filled with nuggets of Wisdom. Today’s observation is especially worth noting. We see all around us, Believers as well as Unbelievers, the accumulation of Wealth and “Stuff” is rampant. And what is the outcome? It Does Not Satisfy!!! But no sooner does Man experience this outcome, he’s back at it the next day toiling for more.
Solomon saw this and nails it; VANITY! Jesus too, saw it and said to the Samaritan Woman, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again”. It was true in Solomon’s Day, it was true in Jesus Day, and it is true in our Day. Only God can make us Content. May we seek Him afresh for that Living Water today!
