Read Acts 11-13

“Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life.” Acts 11:18

Two people have Visions from God; one is the Apostle Peter and the other is the Centurion Cornelius. At this point in Church History, we have virtually no record of “any” Gentile conversions. But at “this time” in Redemptive History, God Sovereignly intervenes to make this happen through these Visions and Peter shares the Gospel with a house full of Gentiles.

Each year, as I read thru the Bible, there is usually a word or a theme that is made evident to me in my reading. This year it has been Repentance. Here, as Peter reports back at Jerusalem, all that God had done among the Gentiles, notice above how the Church describes their salvation; “repentance that leads to life”. This is an inescapable reality! The Apostles associated True Conversion with Repentance. As I’ve stated before, the Gospel being preached today is “severely anemic”, as it lacks any mention of God’s Law, His Holy character, and a real and true need to Repent Of Sin!!! May God help us return to true Apostolic Preaching!
