“For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,” 2 Corinthians 4:17
The Christian Life is not an easy one; but it is the only one if you want to go to Heaven. Jesus said, “In the world you will have tribulation” and Paul said, “all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted”. These Absolute Truths need to be grasped and understood by “ALL” who call on the name of the Lord or consider themselves to be God’s People. Knowing these “Realities”, Paul encourages us with Two Things:
First, he calls the trials, difficulties, and afflictions we will endure, “LIGHT”. Now, of course when we are going through them, they seem anything but that! But that’s what the Holy Spirit inspired Paul to write!!! Second, they will produce for us an “Incomprehensible Result”! Note the words he uses; Eternal, Weight, Glory, Far Beyond, All Comparison. And this only describes what he gains, not what he misses; Weeping, Wailing, and Gnashing of Teeth. This should help “EVERY” weary and heavy-laden Christian on their Journey to Heaven today!
