“I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.” 3 John 4
As John writes to Gaius, whom he says “he loves in truth”, and as he hears of his “walking in truth”, he opens his letter with this statement. John, “the Disciple whom Jesus loved”, certainly knew what it meant to Love the Savior and to “walk in truth”! Here he expresses that love as a Spiritual Parent to his Child in the Faith, Gaius. As I’ve written before, I can enter into his sentiment as a Parent and could not agree more! There is “No Greater Joy” than this!!!
However, when we truly believe there are only 2 Families of People on this Earth, Satan’s and God’s; and you are either a Slave of the Devil or a Child of God; and at the end of this Life as we know it, an Eternity in Heaven or Hell; then this should be the overriding theme of the Home and of the Raising of our children! This then begs the Question: how can a Christian Parent feel any other way?
We definitely should be filled with joy. Count it all joy!
