“Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”” 1 Corinthians 15:33
Paul begins this Chapter with the words “Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.” He then goes on for the rest of the Chapter to explain the Doctrine of the Resurrection. Then, almost right in the middle of his presentation, he warns the Church about adopting a Worldly Attitude of “This Life” with Today’s Verse! I believe if Paul were writing this in Social Media today, it would be in ALL CAPS!!!
It also comes to us as we deal with an ungodly and wicked Culture. Paul has warned us in Romans, “Do not be conformed to this world” and called “This World” in Galatians, “This Present Evil Age”. John has told us in his 1st letter “Do not love the world nor the things in the world.” Is it any wonder then why this Truism is True? We think ourselves so wise when we feel we are exempt somehow. Our thoughts instead are, “Good company improves bad morals”. Not True! The opposite is true. May we start Believing God’s Word and living accordingly instead of always being the Exception!
