Read 1 Corinthians 11-13

“Love never fails;” 1 Corinthians 13:8a

For those familiar with 1 Corinthians 13, you’ll know that this Verse is the last of what Paul uses to define what Love is. In the previous Verses he tells us that “Love is: Patient, Kind, Not Jealous, Does Not Brag, is Not Arrogant, does Not Act Unbecomingly, does Not Seek Its Own, is Not Provoked, does Not Take Into Account A Wrong Suffered, does Not Rejoice in Unrighteousness, but Rejoices With the Truth, Bears All Things, Believes All Things, Hopes All Things, Endures All Things,” and then, he finishes with Today’s Verse “Love Never Fails.” It is, as it were, the Capstone to a Beautiful Monument or Building. THE Final Summit of the Matterhorn!

But, this Verse, as well as the others, begs the question; Do We Have THIS in OUR life? We are told that “the fruit of the Spirit is Love” and that a True Christian “bears fruit”. There is NO Exception! Now, this doesn’t mean that we will all have the same amount of Fruit. There may be lean times when we just have a couple of grapes scattered about. We may even be Barren for a Period. But the True Christian will always be bearing Fruit and Love is one of the main ones we need to be looking for. May God make it so!!!
