Read Jeremiah 8-11

The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved!” Jeremiah 8:20

For those who’ve read Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening, you’ll recognize this from the last day of the year. In it he starts out by asking “Not saved! Dear reader, is this your mournful plight?” Jeremiah asks this of an Apostate People; those who were Jew in name only. They violated “all” the commandments but still wanted to be claimed as the Lord’s! It doesn’t make sense, does it?

But as Christians today, are we any different? We aren’t! As long as we meet the “status quo” of today’s Christianity, we feel everything is fine. But on the Last Day, Jesus says MANY will come to Him saying Lord, Lord, expecting to enter heaven. Obviously, they were not ready. Am I? Oh God, if I am not, please open my eyes!!!
